Okay, this post is late, I know. I’m sure all of you know it snowed yesterday. Well, did you know what my backyard looked like? Probably not!

On snow day, BV closed the office early, so Ryan and I went home at around 1PM. Later, I took a break from working at home and went to play some frisbee in the snow. YES, SNOW FRISBEEEEEEEEEE. Needless to say, that was quite awesome and I froze my hands, battered my shins some more, but had a lot of fun. Now I just need it to pour… then we can have POURING RAIN FRISBEEEEEEEEEEEEE…

In other news, Sam apparently has no idea how a machine dishwasher works and decided to put a bunch of palmolive hand dishwashing liquid into the machine instead of using the huge box of Cascade I have under my sink (you know, where everyone puts their dishwasher detergent). The next day, I opened it and was greeted with a bunch of bubbles and unclean dishes.

I’ve also grown a liking to bothering my sisters online…

My fireplace is currently hidden behind my couch and I’m pretty sure I will never use it. However, after a conversation with Nancy, it will soon have purpose other than just being in the way. Woo! More updates to follow… hopefully tomorrow or the day after. =)

On another note, I am taking the week after Thanksgiving off. Mark and Andrew will be over and we will be making lots of meat. It will be known as meatcation.

My house work is almost done. Mostly all that remains is adding the trim between the tile and wood and just general cleaning. It’s looking pretty nice. =) I was worried about what tile/grout to get but I think it worked out well… it’s very hard to look at one piece of tile and than extrapolate it across a large portion of your house. Here are some shots, starting with the bathroom door I got added to the master room.

Now I’m debating a bit about what to do with the former “breakfast nook” area. I’m thinking about turning it into a clean “table games” area and going with a predominantly white+wood look with clean white lighting. We’ll see…

Contractors put down most of the tile today, then I went to help Chancy move into their new house for a while. Tomorrow, it’s the Bazaarvoice Technical Services Diablo II LAN party at my place! Woo!

They also did a pretty good job installing a door for my master bathroom, but I was too lazy to take a pic of that. Maybe tomorrow after everything’s done. Have a good weekend!

In other news, I need to replace my roof after the hail storm a while or whatever ago. Thankfully, that’s what insurance is for! It actually works out pretty well, since I’d probably need to replace it in a few years anyways. Should I look into getting a metal roof? I likely would have figured this out a while ago had a solicitor not assumed I was an adolescent child, which made me not listen to her at all. Anyways, inspector said it was pretty scratched up but I didn’t have any immediate risk of leaks or anything, so I’ll get around to getting that done soon.

I’m prepping to get some other contract work done on my house, like removing a wall or two and tiling some floor. I’ll post pics when that happens (maybe even this coming week)!

I think I’m going to start titling all my weekend posts with “The ____ one.” Sounds like a TV series episode naming scheme.

This weekend was very much dominated by me listening to music at my house, sleeping, waking up with random website ideas, and then throwing together what you see here now. I’d call that a productive weekend. On Sunday night, Chad, Nancy, Ochs, Sam and I watched the first few episodes of season two of Weeds. I also managed to make my way to Town Lake and ran and kayaked a mile-ish.

I bought a water hose and stuff to give my lawn some loving, but never actually put it to use… well… maybe tomorrow…
