So I enabled Timeline on my account since I’m one of those developer types and it’s actually pretty cool.
The timeline gets more general the further back you go (and probably because I used FB less when I first started), but here are some things it thought to highlight back in the day:

*shrug* =)
Last week, Andrew cryptically scheduled Ryan for a day of something. No one really knew what Andrew was up to, so we weren’t sure whether Ryan would be alive after that day. Turns out, Andrew bought the parts to assemble a MakerBot, so Mark, Andrew and Ryan set out to make the MakerBot so they could make other stuff. Oh… Sam joined for a brief period of time.
They finished really early this morning, but I took a few photos last night. I played around with the processing a bit… hope it’s not annoying.

I took my mom to Uchiko and got their 10 course meal thingy. It was quite tasty!
I also decided to get a new receiver because my Onkyo was kind of crapping out and having issues with certain inputs. Decided to get a Pioneer VSX-1020-K, which I just got today and installed. I’m now letting Star Trek play to “break it in” (I don’t think I need to do that). While installing the receiver, I discovered that some punk had unplugged my subwoofer and who knows how long that’s been that way. Hmph.
In other food related news, I booked a reservation at Alinea!
Oh, also, here are a lot of Olivers from the past year or so of blog posts (click for larger version).

I finally launched TeetarSauce.com, the site dedicated to Viraj Bhagat! I’ve owned the domain name for a while with changing intentions, but finally decided to put something together and get it live this weekend.

My sleep schedule has been kind of messed up this past week initially due to jet-lag, but I didn’t do a whole lot to fix it. I’ve been falling asleep at around 5PM with the intention of waking up in an hour or two, but I keep on sleeping through my alarms and waking up in the 3AM-5AM range. However, with some help of some HoN play time, I managed to stay up until midnight last night so hopefully my schedule will have righted itself for this coming week.
It’s also my mom’s birthday today. Happy birthday, mother!

Yes, I’m back in the US now. I’ll post more later but I just wanted to say happy 2011!
Here’s a wordle image of Owiber.com blog posts for 2010.

Am I going to get in trouble because “Sam” is mentioned more times than “Melissa?” Uh ohhhhhh…
You can see last year’s for reference.

There was lots of HoN last week. Somehow, Viraj has become really really horrible at the game. We end up balancing teams counting him as a negative because he usually ends up hurting his team more than he helps. That makes balancing a little tricky because on the rare occasion that he doesn’t do horribly but instead just does mediocre, his team ends up winning because we’ve tried to balance out his horribleness.
On Sunday, my mom locked my car keys in my car, so I slept while she obtained my spare key. Wooooooo.
I’ve been watching Veronica Mars and I just finished the first season. Man, that would have been a frustrating season finale and they even tease you throughout the first episode of the second season before resolving the cliff-hangers. Glad I don’t have to wait. =) Enjoyable show.

I was talking to Melissa about when I read the Lord of the Rings series which was back at UT when I took Linguistics of Tolkien’s Middle Earth with Mark. That brought up the subject of our awesome project where Mark and I took a MrTechHappy plot and translated it into Quenya, Tolkien’s elvish language. The translated comic is available here, but I would recommend just reading the English version then looking at our translation PDF which is pretty awesome. I like how we translated my name to mean “SnowFlower.”
There are quite a few good translations, I thought, but here are two humorous ones as a preview:

Haha…

This weekend, I went up to Dallas to visit my sister, celebrate father’s day/my dad’s birthday, and to watch Wicked. Wicked was pretty entertaining. I had previously read the story on wikipedia, but I don’t think that ruined it for me. =p
I recently got the remaining batch of photos for my room which I would consider pretty much done at this point. I’ve finally finished replacing all of my pre-house furniture (aka old/cheap college stuff) with new stuff so it actually looks decent now. I’ll come back and post pics!
I’ve also developed a cough that is no fun at night. =( I think it’s allergy related, but for now, cough drops are sufficing…
I reserved an iPhone 4 at The Domain, but the line apparently has been 3+ hours for the entire day, so I think I’m going to hold off on getting one until it becomes more reasonably obtainable. Plus, I hear if you hold it wrong it drops your calls. =p
Oh, and I did a little work on the Sam Ni fan site. =)

I’ve been working on a Flickr to Facebook photo importer for a little bit and I’ve got something pretty functional now. If you’re my Facebook friend, you can give it a run through here. It’s not done, but it should work, I think… still a lot of cleanup to do and perhaps some better error handling, but we’ll see. =)
In a few hours the 2010 IPSC (Internet Problem Solving Contest) starts. We originally thought it was at noon, but after realizing we didn’t take into account time zones, we found out it starts at 5AM. I’m about to get a little bit of sleep because the thing lasts for five hours and I hope to make it through it…
The last time Andrew, Mark, and I competed was in 2006 and we did rather poorly. We’re all a bit rustier now, I think, so we don’t expect to do any better, but it was a lot of fun last time, so we’re going to give it another go. =)

So I got bored and I went back and found archives of my “blog” posts from 1999-2004. Back then, there weren’t many (if any) blog platforms, so I was using some funky “news” posting software. Apparently it stored all the posts in a text file with delimiters of ““x”…
Anyways, I whipped up a quick script to convert it into an XML format WordPress could import and… tada! I wouldn’t be surprised if links were broken, by the way…
It’s kind of crazy to see over ten years worth of blogging on the right sidebar now…
