Sam, 2004

The first year I roomed with Sam, he posted this on his Xanga:

[random though of the moment] it is 6:30 am, sun is not up. looks at Oliver.
thinks: hhmm… too bad Oliver is not a girl , or else we could go see the sun
rise together. two guys watching the sun rise is just gay. [/ random thought]

Apparently Sam used to watch me sleep and wish I was a girl so he could share a sunrise with me.

Omegle

Ryan showed me this site where you basically chat with random people. I’ll just leave you with this:

I also explained to a Chinese boy what asl meant then proceeded to say I was from the UK and he should mind the gap.

“Highway run into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You’re on my mind
Restless hearts sleep alone tonight
Sending all my love along the wire” - Journey

Poor Batman

My Batman keychain has finally lost both of its legs. Now he looks almost offensive… perhaps it is time to replace him with my LEGO Yoda keychain.

Batman-001

“In a field of yellow flowers,
underneath the sun,
bluest eyes that spark with lightning,
boy with shoes undone.
He is young, so full of hope,
reveling in tiny dreams,
filling up, his arms with flowers,
right for giving any queen.

Running to her beaming bright,
while cradling his prize.
A flickering of yellow light,
within his mother’s eyes.
She holds them to her heart,
keeping them where they’ll be safe,
clasped within her very marrow,
dandelions in a vase.” - Five Iron Frenzy

Shattered Dreams

I spent the end of tonight watching 80’s music videos. Man, that was pretty awesome. Here’re a few:

I’m pretty much over the majority of my cold now, but I still have a lingering cough. I’ve found that when I’m sick, I seem to have a weird “internal smell” that’s akin to burnt electronics. It’s a bit strange and not very pleasant to say the least. I hope I don’t actually smell that way…

I was also sent this video of Sam, which I find pretty hilarious.

I believe that night, I had to drive downtown at almost 2AM to pick his drunk butt up.

“And now you’ve given me, given me
Nothing but shattered dreams, shattered dreams,
Feel like I could run away, run away
From this empty heeeaaaaart…” - Johnny Hates Jazz

Hoodie Pic

I took the picture at the end of this post while I was at work listening to people talk. The hoodie makes me feel like I’m secret. Safe. Haha, just kidding, but I felt like I had to write a blog post so I could use it, so… here it is.

Apparently Apple released their iPad, which I’ve known was being worked on for quite some time from a previous employer. Took long enough! I’m mostly disappointed there’s no multitasking. A little anti-climactic as it’s basically just a big iPod Touch that you can add 3G to for an extra $130. I’d categorize it as “neat toy” but not “must have gadget.” At least, not yet.

My little sister told me to get the Scramble 2 iPhone/iPod app, which I did. I have discovered that I am not very good at it and she mocks me with her high score that is significantly higher than mine.

“Tell me lies
Tell me sweet, little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can’t disguise
(You can’t disguise, no you can’t disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies” - Fleetwood Mac

Twilight

I watched Twilight yesterday with Heather, Ryan, and Steph… which was, ya know… Twilight. But, on the bright side, it allowed me to really connect with my little sister

owiber: go to sleep little face!
owiaba: go to sleep, old man!
owiber: you have to go learn multiplication tomorrow!
owiaba: no!
owiaba: too soon!
owiber: ONE POUND OF GLITTER
owiber: http://www.capaper.com/product/6410
owiaba: SIGH
owiaba: one pound of RAINBOW
owiber: ~sparkle~
owiber: maybe I will dump it on your bed
owiaba: no
owiaba: I will kill you
owiber: :-D
owiber: but you’ll ~sparkle~ for the rest of your life
owiaba: noooooo
owiber: just like Edward
owiaba: yayz.
owiber: GOOD NIGHT, FACE
owiaba: BYE BROTHER

My little sister loves me so much more now!

Hectic

I feel like this week has been hectic. Some days you feel always busy and then you think back on what you did and you have no idea… I think that was a lot of this week. Tomorrow’s Friday, though!

After a bit of conversation with coworkers, I picked up lamely-named Scrabble rip-off, Words with Friends and have been playing it somewhat heavily the entire week. If you happen to pick it up, you can guess what my username is. ;) I’ve only finished a few games, including some that make Brook look like he’s a glutton for punishment.

I think I’ve got a bit of shin splint action going on, but I’m looking forward to ultimate this weekend anyways. We should have a pretty decent crew out this time, I’m hoping.

Here’s to the weekend!

Countdown

Heather and Steph have kidnapped my roommate for the New Year festivities in Dallas, so I’m:

…again. But! That’s not bad as I think a nice and easy countdown to the new year doesn’t sound very terrible at all. I’m itching to do something somewhat creative/productive though, so we’ll see if I can muster up anything (don’t hold your breath).

As a side note, in 2000, when asked where I’d be ten years from then, I said:

I’ll be 26… possibly married, making money… probably got a master’s in Computer Engineering… leading a happy life. =) Hopefully. =)

In 2004, I said in five years, I’d:

Stable job… somewhere… I wonder if I will have a girlfriend then… lol. Owner of an Infiniti G35 Coupe. =)

Apparently my future telling was not very keen back then… married? Hahaha… oh little Oliver, you slay me.

See ya in 2010!

The bitter cold of the north

Well, I succumbed then relatively quickly overcame my cold that left me feeling very… cold. Yesterday, I was talking to Ryan after returning from his visit home when I suddenly felt incredibly cold despite the house being at basically the same temperature it had been the entire day. After a while, I hid under a blanket and still felt cold until I piled another one on top of that. I ended up sleeping in late and skipped work, but now I am feeling much better and much warmer.

On a side note, there seems to be something wrong with Photo Booth. The file names it saves are a year in the future. I checked my system clock and it’s definitely correct… anyone else have this issue?

It knows too much!

Oh noes, Amazon knows too much…

Too bad I already have three of those four (well, close)… but the forth is mighty tempting…

I’m feeling mopey all alone at my place… time to listen to some horrible music… =) (and Sam, I am okay… I am not about to kill myself)
