Linux Tip #1

Woo, I created a Linux category so I wouldn’t lose/forget all the things I do to my distro everytime I install and forget the next time around. Note that this is for personal use mainly so I probably won’t have much explanation… heh…

Here’s #1:

.xmodmaprc

remove Shift = Shift_R
keycode 62 = slash question
keycode 61 = period greater

Oh You Don't Know

REVVIN’ UP YOUR ENGINE
LISTEN TO HER HOWLIN’ ROAR
METAL UNDER TENSION
BEGGIN’ YOU TO TOUCH AND GO

HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE
RIDE INTO THE DANGER ZONE

HEADIN’ INTO TWILIGHT
SPREADIN’ OUT HER WINGS TONIGHT
SHE GOT YOU JUMPIN’ OFF THE DECK
AND SHOVIN’ INTO OVERDRIVE

….

TOP GUN!!!!!!

New Job Celebration

In celebration of my new job, I shall ask you a question. What do the following three images have in common?

Top Gun

Little Mermaid

Lion King

Answer: I shall own all three soundtracks in approximately 7 - 10 days. Oh yeah. Awesomeness. You don’t know. You don’t know.

Playing with Photos

This is Olivia, she is not happy. However, I am quite happy how well this turned out. =)

I think the pic above loses some of the effect so small, so… here’s a larger version.

This is me playing with selective color/black&white. I don’t really like it, I got sloppy… but I figured I’d throw it up here anyways.

I didn’t really do anything to this other than cropping it, but I like it a lot, so here it is. =)

Post Before Bed Again

I’m trying to think of words to describe my mood and I just remembered how Sam once described himself as “feeling emo”… haha, that just makes me laugh. I would link you to the actual post, but I don’t remember when it was and Xanga doesn’t have a search =/. Haha, we love you, Sam. =)

So, Mark, Sam and Viraj just finished a seven or so hour game of Simpsons Monopoly while Van and I played a game of Total Annihilation (which concluded much sooner than seven hours). Yay for the classic games. =)

I’m looking forward to another week at Freescale, I should be figuring out which group I’m going to do my first rotation at. Woooooo. Oh yeah, and I think (hope!) I get my first paycheck too… which is severely needed… haha. I think I’m this’ll do it. Some of those pics are so insanely fruity, lol. We miss you, Andrew, visit! =)

AM... Oh No

It’s so early in the morning I have no idea why I’m still awake. I feel like posting stuff on OliverWEB, but I have no clue what to write about. =/ This probably happens to me in conversations too, I just run out of things to talk about. So, here you see, I’m talking about having nothing to talk about.

Whew. Maybe that was the ice-breaker paragraph I needed.

Oh… no, doesn’t look like it.

LAME.

Freescale

So… not much has happened at Freescale as of yet. I got a pager (one of the text messaging ones… but it’s massive and old =/) and have listened to a bajillion people talk about Freescale. A decent amount of those were managers though trying to get us to come to do one rotation with them and a few of them were interesting (although most of them were heavy on the EE side, but a few good software ones).

Oye, getting up at 7AM’s tough! Though, I think my sleeping schedule will normalize soon and it shouldn’t be so bad anymore (but then, I might be waking up later cause I’ll prob. be able to show up to work later =).

Wellllll…. food time.

It is Time

Tomorrow, I shall wake up in the world of the “grown-ups.” Full time job, no summer, no homework, fat paychecks…

Nancy asked me Sunday morning if I was excited… I’m not really. I’m kinda excited on what projects I’ll be working on and such, but man… Oliver’s grown-up? I don’t think I quite grasp that after working for three months, I won’t be returning to UT. I guess I have a similar feeling to when I graduated. Just seemed like I would be older, have more things figured out than I do now and such crazy things like that when I entered the “grown-ups” world. Alas, I feel like I could just as easily be waking up to walk into AP English and hear moans and groans about Hamlet or play Magic: The Gathering in the cafeteria during lunch. Haha…

I don’t feel grown-up… I’m feeling pushed… shoved into the next stage of my life. I guess I’m ready, I’m not scared… I just can’t believe it. =)

Well guys, here goes nothing!
