Familiar Saturn

Familiar Saturn

I’ve seen this car a few times on my way home from work, but this morning I saw it going to work and had my point and shoot with me so I shot a few quick pictures. Doesn’t it look familiar? =)

Oh, and a close up crop:

Close Up

“We’re leaving together,
But still it’s farewell
And maybe we’ll come back,
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We’re leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?

It’s the final countdown!!!…” - Europe

Days Days Days

Yesterday, I went to shoot some photos for JM with Kathy, Sam and Van. I think this time went much better than last (the lighting helped… yay for dusk). After that Kathy, Nathan, Sam and I went to Chili’s and hung out for a while… was reminiscent of dorm room days when Nathan would spend the night… haha, good times. =) If only Paul were around too…

Running those three miles around Town Lake is getting easier, yay! Yesterday, it felt like my left foot fell asleep at the end of the run… is that bad? That doesn’t sound good… hmm… well, all went well today though and my foot was awake and alive. Speaking of “foot”… I mentioned the new TMNT teaser to my coworkers yesterday and man… I’m pumped up about this movie. Cowabunga, dudes!

“Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He’s a radical rat!)
Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (That’s a fact, Jack!)
Raphael is cool but crude (Gimme a break!)
Michaelangelo is a party dude (Partaaaaaaaay!)

The Test

After running earlier today (well, technically yesterday I suppose), I realized that I can’t give “the car test” to a girl I take on a date. The car test is when you unlock the passenger door of your car to let the girl in, then see if she leans over to unlock the driver’s side. Apparently Jen passed the car test when Andrew gave it to her (good job! haha). Anyways, so I take just my car key with me when I run and I realized that there is no key hole on any of the doors except for the driver’s side. So my only options, if I were to administer the test, would be to use my remote to unlock all the doors, let her in, then lock the doors again, which is kinda clumsy… or I could buy a new car with a key hole on the passenger side as well as the driver’s… hmm… ;)

“Running to her beaming bright,
while cradling his prize.
A flickering of yellow light,
within his mother’s eyes.
She holds them to her heart,
keeping them where they’ll be safe,
clasped within her very marrow,
dandelions in a vase.”

New Laptop

I finally got my new laptop delivered to me by IT today and it is so much better than my last one, it’s not even funny. Yay, now to get productive!

Oh, but wait, I have to install all my software again… doh… so here I am sitting watching three or four download progress windows slowly inch their way to completion as I type this blog entry. How entertaining!

I’m not sure what’s given me my drive to keep up with running around Town Lake, but it’s still alive and kicking thus far. Maybe it was all those things Nancy said would happen to me once diabetes has gobbled me up like a tasty treat. Or maybe it’s because I’ve somehow managed to find it nice spending time by myself and running around Town Lake is a good opportunity to spend the decent portion of an hour by my lonesome.

Yesterday, I spent some time kicking the punching/kicking bag at my parents’ house and now I’m a bit sore. It’s been a while since I’ve kicked for an extended period of time, I suppose… but it does feel good to kick something really hard sometimes. =) I had a dream last night about sparing… that was fun. I think sparing is the thing I miss most about karate…

Where I Sleep

Where I Sleep

This is where I sleep every night. I’ve had that Disney blanket for who knows how long (a long time). I wish I had old-school Strawberry Shortcake sheets, but alas, I had to resort to the new version.

I should have exposed the Care Bears pillow cover (thanks Kathy =) under the blue pillow cover on that large pillow, but I forgot and I’m too lazy to take the picture again… that would have made it quite a bit more colorful and… goofy? haha…

Also present in the pic are some gifts from Nancy and my mom (the red smiley thing and the book, respectively).

“Who sleeps all night in a cake made of strawberry?
Wakes up bright in a cake made of strawberry?
Livin right in a cake made of strawberry?
Strawberry Shortcake, wouldn’t ya know.”

Funny

I was looking at my most popular pictures according to Flickr, and this was #12 on the list:

andrewinfountain

Haha, for some reason, when I read “Nobody counts Andrew in the fountain as a favorite” I started laughing. Don’t know why, but I find it funny. =)

Spent a bit today trying to brainstorm ideas for OWeb ‘07, but that wasn’t very successful. My creativity in web design kinda comes and goes randomly and I can’t force these things, so after a while of things not working, I just gave up. I might drop the dirty/high-tech look cause I don’t think I’m very good at creating good looking dirt, haha. We’ll see…

“I’ve got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs?
I’ve got twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more…”
- Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

Bye A&J!

Andrew and Jen leave Austin Sunday morning to get back to Florida. We went bowling as our last activity with them in Austin and it was pretty fun except that I forgot to eat dinner and was really hungry at the end of it… haha. Hope you guys have a safe/fun trip back!

Finally got around to washing my car too, which is nice… there are a decent chunk of scratches on the hood of it though (I think from rocks flying up behind trucks)… grrrr… oh well. =p

Oh yes, and I got a haircut (thanks Mom! =) which was also quite needed… I don’t like being shaggy. =)

the bridges that I walk across are weak.
Frustrations fill the void that I can’t solely bear.”

Wooork Woooork

A week or so ago I got kinda tired of my job tasks and started looking at other jobs in Austin. I wasn’t seriously thinking about quitting and going to another company, but I just wanted to see what other things were out there. I think every job has its ups and downs and I guess I was having a down at that time. However, my group recently picked up a project that’s gotten me pretty excited… it’s the type of project that made me want to join this particular group. I think this coming year is going to be a good one. =)

I think I’m getting more used to running around Town Lake… I actually had enough energy to somewhat sprint at the end of the run… getting there… getting there. =)

“You are my fire
The one desire
Believe when I say
I want it that way”
- Backstreet Boys =)

They Got Me

I went to Olivia’s to use her microwave, eat some food, play with the dog, etc. etc… and she finally got that darned High School Musical song stuck in my head.

I must say it is rather catchy and similar to a lot of other songs I own… just that it being one of those “Disney original movies” rubs me the wrong way. =)

“This feeling’s like no other
I want you to know
I’ve never had someone that knows me like you do
The way you do
I’ve never had someone as good for me as you
No one like you
So lonely before, I finally found
what I’ve been looking for…”
- High School Musical

No Running Today

So I drove over to Town Lake after work today and apparently they closed off the area I usually park at and instead forced me back onto Mopac south during rush hour. Thanks a lot. I spent the next 20 minutes bumper to bumper until I could finally get off and turn around to go back north. By that time I was so fed up I just gave up and went back to the apartment.

In other news, I have decided I am going to wear jeans and a pink polo tomorrow. It’s going to be hawt. And somehow, I think these carefully selected lyrics are very fitting… ;)

“(Ooh love Ooh lover boy)
What ya doin’ tonight, (hey boy)
Set my alarm, turn on my charm
That’s because I’m a good old fashioned lover boy.”
- Queen
